Fraud Plan
At EdfaPay, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of payment security and fraud prevention. This document outlines our fraud monitoring process and how we handle suspicious activity in cooperation with our merchants.
Monitoring System
We have a real-time fraud detection engine that actively monitors all transactions and flags suspicious patterns, including:
- Excessive failed payment attempts
- Unusual order values or volumes
- High-risk BIN ranges (based on issuing country or card type)
- IP geolocation mismatches
- Repeated usage of the same card across multiple accounts
Key Fraud Prevention Measures
- 3D Secure (3DS): Mandatory for all eligible cards to verify cardholder identity.
- Velocity Checks: Detect unusual transaction frequency from the same card, IP, or account.
- Geo-location Validation: Verifying whether the cardholder’s IP matches the billing address country.
- Device Fingerprinting: Identify high-risk devices or suspicious patterns.
- BIN Checks: Validate if the card type and country match the payment details.
- Blacklist Management: Block transactions from flagged cards, IPs, or emails.
Merchant Responsibilities
Merchants are expected to:
- Avoid shipping goods before verifying high-risk transactions.
- Monitor their own dashboards for flagged activities.
- Contact [email protected] if you suspect fraudulent behavior.
Response to Fraud Alerts
To further reduce fraud exposure:
- Require customer phone and email verification at checkout.
- Monitor refund/chargeback rates.
- Avoid manual approvals for high-ticket or cross-border orders.
- Train customer service teams to detect suspicious behavior.
